sanchez late last night. he was driving a stolen pickup truck. that arrest happened at 11:30 last night. here is a new video of a mug shot taken early this morning of the 32-year-old. police have been searching since wednesday afternoon. sanchez was able to slip his handcuffs from behind his back to the front and then he jumped into the driver seat of an unmarked police van. he then drove away in that police fan which was later found near renato hours later. police sources say that sometime wednesday or thursday he was later spotted in a red toyota tacoma that was stolen in a 7-11 parking lot and then officers finally caught him driving that stolen truck near mount castle late last night in san jose. we are not sure if he went quietly but he was finally booked in to the county jail at 3:30 this morning. he was arrested for burglary, vehicle theft, escape, possession of a controlled substance and on the two arrest warrants, we are trying to get an interview with the police spokesperson. we haven't heard back from him yet but when we have the update we will give that information. reportin

sanchez joins us live from san jose. what's the reason for the price tag this time? >> reporter: well, jessica, there are a lot of different reasons, they are very frustrated. they say they're used to paying higher gas prices here in california and they are also used to paying more for that summer blend of gas that is more expensive but we're transitioning to now. 32 cents in one month is pretty frustrating. >> i think it's outrageous. >> reporter: watching the gas prices go up as he drove cross-country from minnesota to the golden state. in the last month alone up 32 cents average of $3.93 a gallon of regular unleaded. >> you don't really have an option. you have to keep going. you can't just quit life just because the gas goes up. >> reporter: san francisco is really feeling the pain. his car takes the most expensive gas. >> it had gone down to a good level $4 for supreme. unfortunately, i have to get supreme on this. then $4.09 a gallon. it's frustrating. >> reporter: aaa says there's a number of reasons for the spike in california because of scheduled and unscheduled refinery main
van while he was in handcuffs. officers say anthony sanchez then dumped the unmarked van near almond, and expressway, and ran about a mile from where it was stolen. officers say they picked up sanchez on a probation violation about 3:30 this afternoon. but because he was a large man, officers linked two handcuffs together. officers say they were doing paperwork, when he slipped the cuffs in front of himself, went to the front seat and just drove off. weighing 250 to 275 pounds, he was last seen wearing black sweats and a sweatshirt. >>> a single metal bolt brought one of san francisco's cable cars to a halt today. the cable car struck at about 10:20 this morning. ten people were injured during the abrupt stop. seven of them were taken to the hospital. the major accidents team in muni are looking into how that bolt lodged into the track. >> stopped the car dead. we lost one person off the vehicle. a female fell off, hurt her legs. numerous injuries on the cable car. >> police say they do not believe the bolt was maliciously placed in the tracks. muni is trying to determine where it ca
